Hiral & Deepal’s Stunning Painted Hall Wedding Reception
Hiral & Deepal’s Painted Hall Wedding reception at The Old Royal Naval College was one to remember. Indeed as you can see from the photos, it was a breathtaking event!
The Old Royal Naval College is based in the heart of the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site. Consequently it makes for a spectacular place to photograph in! Moreover we were lucky enough to catch a stunning sunset! In particular, the way the low sunlight hit the buildings was a sight to behold.
It was my first time photographing a reception in the Painted Hall. It has the nickname of ‘Britain’s Sistine Chapel’ and as you can, it really is incredible. The beautiful Baroque interior has ceilings and walls painted by British artist Sir James Thornhill. In the 1800’s the main hall was used as a ceremonial dining hall. After its £8.5 million restoration, it was an honour to photograph in this grand, historically rich room.
Payal Events decked it out perfectly for the evening reception. In addition they also catered for the event with delicious food alongside CH & CO. Meanwhile the evening wedding reception, with dinner and speeches were held in the Painted Hall, which provided a stunning backdrop for the lovely couple, Hiral and Deepal. Together with flowers from Samantha Davis Flowers, the hall looked amazing.

It was great to capture some natural portraits of the lovely couple in the grounds of The Old Royal Naval College.
The stunning portraits in the main hall…
Additionally we were able to get some incredible photos on the steps leading up to the Painted Hall. Notably Hiral and Deepal looked fabulous in their wedding outfits. In particular, I loved Hiral’s flowing red dress which really stood out!
In general I love to create my own art at weddings. For example the image below is a double exposure. Although I love to photograph beautiful, natural photos, I also love to create these images.
Here is the Painted Hall looking incredible for Hiral and Deepal’s wedding reception. Prior to this, they were keen to take some photos in there!
All in all the evening went perfectly. In fact I loved capturing the smiles and laughter during the speeches.
Just before the dancing began, I captured this lovely moment of my lovely couple. They absolutely loved their wedding reception in the Painted Hall.
Afterwards, the party continued in the King William Undercroft section with it’s own bar. Eventually Hiral and Deepal enjoyed their first dance in this beautiful room!
In conclusion, I loved photographing this wedding reception in the Painted Hall. Therefore, if you’re planning an event there and need a photographer, please get in touch!
